MMS Aviation Website Rebuild
Type: Web Design
Role: Lead Designer
Project Overview
MMS Aviation is a nonprofit organization that trains and supports missionary pilots and mechanics around the world. Their website plays a central role in sharing their mission, supporting fundraising efforts, and highlighting individual missionaries. By 2020, the site had become outdated and difficult to navigate, limiting its effectiveness for both donors and staff.
Old Website
The Challenge
The existing site no longer reflected the professionalism or global reach of the organization. Key information was buried in confusing navigation, layouts were inconsistent, and the donation process lived outside the site entirely. Just as important, the MMS team relied heavily on outside help to keep content updated, making routine changes slow and frustrating. The rebuild needed to improve usability and giving while also giving staff long term ownership of the site.
The Approach
The Solution
The rebuilt site presented a clear and modern experience that made it easy to explore the mission and support it financially. Missionary profiles were elevated, donations were fully integrated into the site, and content updates could be handled internally. The training videos and workflows ensured the team could confidently manage updates without ongoing design support.
Results
Reflection
This project reinforced the importance of building for longevity. The visual redesign mattered, but the real success came from creating a system the MMS team could manage with confidence. Designing with sustainability in mind allowed the work to continue delivering value long after launch.
